Wynter House is located just outside Bath in England.
Renovation of a derelict outbuilding that had been used as stables and converting it into a two bedroom house for a groundskeeper.
One 2m x 2m incision into the brick, created an opening that connected the South facade to a new walled garden and private entry. Internally, space was made for two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and a Kitchen and Living Space downstairs. The placement of rooms in plan matched the layout of the original framing and we took care to preserve the existing wooden beams. Glass windows were inserted between the beams to create acoustic privacy but to also allow for light to penetrate the hallway.
